Position Summary
VantagePoint Alliance is seeking an experienced Field Environmental Manager to support a large industrial power generation project in Tennessee. This position is responsible for leading environmental compliance activities throughout the construction and project execution phases while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting combined cycle power generation projects and possess a strong background in environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, field inspections, environmental training, and implementation of environmental management programs on industrial construction projects.
Responsibilities
  • Lead environmental compliance activities for a major industrial construction project.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permit requirements.
  • Implement and maintain project environmental management plans and environmental procedures.
  • Support environmental permitting activities and ensure compliance with permit conditions.
  • Conduct routine environmental inspections, field audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Identify environmental risks and develop corrective actions to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with project management, construction teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies regarding environmental requirements.
  • Maintain environmental documentation, inspection reports, regulatory records, and compliance tracking logs.
  • Assist with implementation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) programs, waste management plans, air quality compliance, erosion and sediment control, and other environmental programs as applicable.
  • Investigate environmental incidents and support corrective and preventive action implementation.
  • Deliver environmental orientation and training programs for project personnel and subcontractors.
  • Promote environmental stewardship and continuous improvement throughout the project.
Qualifications
  • Minimum five (5) years of environmental compliance experience supporting industrial or power generation facilities.
  • Previous experience supporting Combined Cycle Power Plant projects is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with environmental permitting, environmental inspections, regulatory compliance, and environmental reporting.
  • Working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and applicable state environmental regulations.
  • Experience working in construction, commissioning, startup, or heavy industrial environments is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of air quality regulations, hazardous waste management, stormwater compliance, wastewater, and environmental management systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and environmental reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources, or a related discipline.
  • Environmental certifications are a plus.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
  • Experience with Title V Air Permits, CEMS, EPA Method 9, SWPPP, SPCC, hazardous waste, and environmental auditing is highly desirable.

Travel: Per diem available for qualified candidates residing more than 50 miles from the project.
