Overview:
VantagePoint Alliance is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to oversee outage, maintenance, and capital projects at gas-fired and coal-fired power plants. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing electrical scopes of work in large industrial environments, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining compliance with plant, company, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and direct electrical construction activities for power plant outage and maintenance projects.
Oversee installation, repair, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, motors, MCCs, control systems, and protective relays.
Coordinate project schedules, workforce requirements, and resource allocation with plant operations, contractors, and engineering teams.
Lead site safety efforts, ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and plant-specific safety procedures.
Review electrical drawings, schematics, and project plans to ensure accuracy and constructability.
Supervise subcontractors and field crews, monitoring progress and quality of workmanship.
Provide technical direction and troubleshoot electrical issues during outages or project execution.
Manage budgets, track costs, and report project performance to senior leadership.
Maintain strong client and plant-owner relationships through effective communication and problem-solving.
Support commissioning and turnover of systems to plant operations after project completion.
Qualifications:
8+ years of electrical construction or maintenance experience in power generation facilities, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
Strong background in electrical systems within gas-fired and/or coal-fired power plants.
Demonstrated experience managing outages, turnarounds, or large-scale capital projects.
In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
