VantagePoint Alliance is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Scheduler to support the planning and execution of complex construction projects within the power generation industry. This role is critical to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of projects ranging from renewable energy installations to large-scale power plant builds and upgrades.
As a Project Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project schedules that coordinate all phases of construction, including engineering, procurement, logistics, and site activities. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure activities are accurately sequenced, resources are efficiently allocated, and potential delays are proactively identified and addressed.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of construction scheduling principles and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Experience in power generation projects—such as fossil fuel, nuclear, or renewable energy facilities—is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate all logistical aspects of construction projects to ensure seamless integration within the master construction schedule.
Develop and manage plans for materials, equipment, and on-site operations across all projects, ensuring these activities are accurately scheduled to maximize efficiency and minimize cost or schedule overruns.
Proactively identify project deviations, schedule slippage, opportunities, and risks; communicate findings clearly to the Project Delivery Team and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Monitor and highlight all potential scheduling issues and risks, ensuring they are fully understood by the Project Delivery Team and providing expert planning guidance to support decision-making.
Prepare and deliver regular progress updates, detailing any changes or delays affecting logistics, site movements, and general operations.
Collaborate closely with the construction planner and site teams to optimize sequencing of site activities, enhancing overall project value and execution efficiency.
Skills:
Good understanding towards general construction site principles and buildability.
Good understanding of construction methodology to enable effective scheduling.
Ability to read and understand construction programs.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office package.
Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera or similar.
Understanding of Project Management and Engineering / Construction Project Delivery.
Good relationship building and communication skills-at all levels and across functions, internally and externally.
Ability to motivate, persuade and influence others.
A flexible approach to requirements – adapts to changing priorities and requirements.
Strong planning skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
A background in electrical and/or mechanical engineering.
Experience in power generation.
Procore experience or willingness to learn.
Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home as required.
