Position Summary:

VantagePoint Alliance is looking for Control Room Operators.  The role is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of an energy center in the Phoenix area, as well as remote oversight of energy centers in other areas.  This role focuses on plant performance, proactive issue identification, and execution of maintenance tasks to support uninterrupted service delivery.




Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor plant operations and remote systems to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Analyze operating data, identify trends, and recommend adjustments to optimize performance.
  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Log system status and activities using control systems and maintenance software (CMMS).
  • Identify and report safety hazards; follow and enforce safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and performance goals.
  • Support improvements in system performance through proactive recommendations and innovations.
  • Maintain readiness to respond to plant conditions across local and remote sites.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams and communicate plant conditions and updates clearly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations and team goals.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting within cogeneration or central utility plant environments.
  • Experience with large-tonnage chillers, combustion turbine generators, or district energy systems preferred.

Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to interpret data and assess system health.
  • Technically skilled in mechanical and electrical systems operation and repair.
  • Proficient in using CMMS platforms and control system tools.
  • Adaptive and responsive to change; eager to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Effective communicator with a team-oriented mindset.
  • High standards for safety, performance, and professionalism.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas as needed.
  • Must be available for shift work and emergency call-ins, including weekends or holidays.
