Job Summary:
VPA is seeking experienced Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Coordinators to support critical safety programs at a data center in Ohio. These roles are responsible for coordinating and overseeing LOTO activities to ensure the safe isolation of hazardous energy sources during testing, commissioning, maintenance and operational tasks. Personnel must be fully trained in LOTO procedures, with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Implement and enforce LOTO procedures in accordance with site-specific safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of LOTO authorizations, permits, and compliance audits.
• Provide guidance and support to personnel on LOTO standards and best practices.
• Conduct periodic inspections and assessments of LOTO activities to ensure compliance.
• Effectively communicate with stakeholders to address LOTO-related concerns.
• Utilize P&IDs, Electrical and other process drawings to identify the energy sources for the assets to be locked and tagged out, access the process areas of the facility to locate the assets, gather appropriate information for tagging out the asset and generate the lockout / tagout procedure, boundaries for isolation of all hazardous energy sources for that asset using the client’s Clearance Management Software.
Qualifications:
• Formal training hands-on experience with LOTO procedures and program requirements.
• Relevant experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of energy isolation and safety protocols.
• Capable of working independently and reliably on non-standard shifts.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Background check and drug test will be required.
Physical Requirements:
• Duties require walking, standing for extended periods of time, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Exposure to extreme heat and cold.
• The frequent use of protective equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, etc.) may be required.
• The position requires working in different shifts with the possibility of overtime, weekend, and holiday work; as required by schedules, workloads, and worksite conditions.
