Position Summary:

VantagePoint Alliance is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Assembly Technician to join our production team, specializing in the assembly of electrical panels and switchboards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with electrical enclosures, wiring components, reading schematics, and adhering to quality and safety standards. You’ll contribute directly to the build of complex electrical systems used in commercial, industrial, and energy applications.




Key Responsibilities:

Assemble electrical control panels, switchboards, and other industrial electrical systems according to engineering drawings and schematics.

Mount and wire components such as relays, circuit breakers, contactors, transformers, and terminal blocks inside enclosures.

Cut, strip, label, and route wires using hand and power tools in accordance with wiring diagrams and layout instructions.

Perform point-to-point wiring and test for continuity and functionality.

Conduct quality checks on completed assemblies to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL 508A, NEC, or IEC as applicable).

Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to resolve design or production issues.

Maintain accurate build documentation and update work orders in the ERP or manufacturing system.

Ensure work is performed safely and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.




Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Technical certificate or associate degree in electrical field preferred.

1–3 years of experience assembling industrial electrical panels or switchgear preferred.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

Proficient in the use of hand tools, crimpers, multimeters, and power tools.

Familiarity with UL, IEC, or other relevant electrical codes and standards preferred but not required.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.




Preferred Experience:

Experience working in a production environment.

Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and electrical control systems.

Experience with lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement tools.
